So the McLaughlin group (2.00 / 1)

(a TV show in which Clift takes part every Sunday as the token fake liberal, together with Buchanan as the token caveman)

has begun to believe Hillary can pull 71% of delegates in every remaining contest? Because that's the only way she can win at this point.

What a tiring line (2.00 / 2)

when did they rewrite the rules?  It is past the point where pledged delegates will decide this- its the supers.  Sorry.

Re: What a tiring line (none / 0)

Then if it's just the supers and the pledged delegates are meaningless, why is Clinton still spending time in those states?

Oh, you meant it's both the pledged and the supers that count.

Kinda changes the meaning though.

Re: What a tiring line (none / 0)

the supers will not overthrow th will of the democratic voters ,escpecially to disenfranchise the first viable black candidate.
 it would destroy the party

Re: What a tiring line (none / 0)

You mean that disenfranchising the first viable FEMALE candidate, who has won the majority of Dem votes, for President wouldn't be overthrowing the will of the voters?

I think you don't know (none / 0)

what 'disenfranchise' means, buddy. Or majority, for that matter.

Somebody's going to lose here. And it's not going to be the guy who won more elected delegates.

Re: So the McLaughlin group (none / 0)

That would be true if the rules said anything whatsoever about ceding the race to whomever has the most pledged delegates.  Howard Dean has finally spoken and clarified the matter.

I have long said this is far more fluid and, frankly, political, than the Obama talking points about math would have you believe.

You folks (none / 0)

are going to have to decide, and soon, which it's going to be: you can either paint yourselves, convincingly or otherwise, as champions of democracy if the unlikely thing happens and she wins the popular vote; or, you can decide to appeal to process, by demanding the supers give you what you want by overturning the elected portion of the contest.

You can't have both.
