John Edwards was my first choice in 2004.

John Edwards was my first choice in 2008.

(All things being equal, I back the southerner, because southern dems have a better win / loss record.)

But, I never bought into the BS about "all the baggage the Clintons have", as if they are unique and all other politicians are pure as the driven snow.  So, after JE dropped out, I drifted to HRC.

Politicians are humans.  Egotistic, self important humans.  Without outsized egos and outsized ideas about what they think they can get away with, they'd never even entertain the thought of a run for president.

So, now the Edwards family is revealed to be exactly what some of his supporters reviled the Clintons for being - - flawed humans who do stupid things and hurt each other, just like the rest of us.

Who knows what happens next?  Evidently, over $100K in hush money went from John's foundation to his lover.

It would be nice to see / read a few mea culpas and apologies from the holier than thou judgmental crowd to the Clintons.  I won't hold my breath.

Huh?  BEcause Edwards had an affair, Obama supporters are supposed to apologize to YOU because they have some reservations about Hillary as VP due to Bill's past/baggage?  

Or are you saying because Edward's had an affair, Bill Clinton didn't have an affair, or it's all good because Edwards did it too?
Or, are you saying, anyone who ever said anything bad about the Clinton's has to take it back because Edward's cheated on his wife?

Just so we're clear, Edward's affair doesn't take away or even mitigate the Clinton's baggage, and for the record I am A OK with Hillary as VP, just like many Obama supporters are, as many believe, or hope that the her positives will outweigh any baggage.

I don't know where those folks are, because those folks need to do more worrying about themselves then about others marraiges. the only thing i don't like is the lying to the people when asked, I completely understand it, especially since there are young kids involved who get hurt, but this interest in it is sad.

That when somebody writes a piece the thrust of which is "I was an X backer right from the get-go, but now X is dead to me," then that person isn't really, and never was, an X backer?
I was an Edwards backer in 2004; I was again this year.  If it were up to me, I'd choose Edwards over Obama right now, even after finding out about his affair.  I'm voting for Obama, my wife and I have given money to Obama, we have Obama bumper stickers, but Edwards is still the one I'd choose, since he's the one I'd rather have as president.

I would always have been happy with her as the nom, but those times, made it easy to think that.

I did not mean to imply that Hillary was flaw less. I was only reacting because many surrogates of Sen Obama and the media acted as though Bill's affair was Hillary's baggage. Should John Edwards affair be treated as Elizabeth's baggage? That makes no sense.
